Here is another case of vinyl siding manufacturers not willing to back up their warranty claims. I found this gem on Consumer Affairs website, another complaint against a major vinyl siding company. The homeowner had suffered thorough a tornado in 2011 which destroyed all the siding that had been on the home and had new vinyl siding installed. Five years later greasy stains were running down the backside. They washed the siding with TSP/Tide and a car wash brush 5 times which how the manufacturer says to clean vinyl siding. The greasy stains remained, a company rep who came out even tried to use 409 on the siding which is an industry no-no. Then, a 2 foot section of the siding had to be removed and sent to the manufacturer, at the owner’s expense, in order for the manufacturer to further review whether there was a warranty claim. THE CLAIM WAS DENIED – STATING IT WAS DUE TO THE ELEMENTS IN THE AIR AND THE WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THAT!
